Welcome!

Welcome!  I am looking forward to discussing the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle.  Many of you may already be reaping the rewards of healthy living, but for some the plethora of information regarding what to eat and how to exercise can be overwhelming.  I will provide simple tips and guidelines throughout the weeks to help you on your journey to optimal wellness.
I am currently an independent ACE Certified Personal Trainer.  I started my fitness career thirty years ago teaching aerobics.  I worked as a medical assistant for ten years in various offices and would rush to the gym after work to teach aerobic classes.   Fitness and health became a passion and I was able to make it a full time career when my cousin and I opened a gym in 1994.  I became a certified trainer in 1996 to be more credible and better service the members.  While I have always had a passion for health and fitness my approach has evolved over the years.  My goal is not only to help clients become fit and healthy, but also enable them to experience the mental, spiritual, and psychological benefits derived from an integrated approach to wellness.

To Your Health,
Cynthia

  1. Hi Cynthia!
Sounds like you have a pretty good grounding on health and wellness even before taking this course. :)
As a trainer, I get so much satisfaction and an immense sense of gratitude by helping others reach not only their fitness goals, but their overall health and wellness goals.
I am looking forward to your blog posts and gaining more and more insight to our passion for health and wellness!

  2. Hi Angela!
I believe this class will enhance my knowledge and ability to help clients reach their health and fitness goals. I loved Professor's analogy of a bicycle wheel - if one spoke is broken the wheel will not function properly.

  3. Hi ladies~
I see both of you are personal trainers- I need to do that after I finish at Kaplan for the job I hope to take. I took two classes on fitness and was encouraged by my professors to take that next step- is this something that is difficult? Please advise.
    Thanks
